Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) Chairperson Shri Jishnu Barua, along with other CERC dignitaries visited Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining project today. The visit aimed to know about the mining operations, challenges, and advancements in the sector. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed at the Sikri site office, where Chairperson Shri Jishnu Barua was accorded a guard of honor, reflecting a gesture of respect for his service and noble efforts.

After that a meeting held in which senior officials provided a detailed presentation on the multifaceted activities and explained the challenges of Pakri Barwadih CMP . The presentation was followed by a symbolic plantation, emphasizing the commitment to environmental sustainability. Subsequently, the CERC team toured to the Pakri Barwadih mine, witnessing various mining operations, the control room, and the utilization of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMMs). The delegation's itinerary included a special interaction with lady dumper operators at Dump C area, where memento was presented to them as a token of appreciation for their contribution.

Accompanying Chairperson Shri Jishnu Barua were notable CERC dignitaries, including Shri Arun Goyal, Member (Finance); Shri Pravas Kumar Singh, Member (Law); Shri Harpreet Singh Pruthi, Secretary; Shri Rajeev Pushkarna, Chief, Finance Division; Dr. S K Chatterjee, Chief, Regulatory Affairs, senior NTPC officials Shri Shivam Srivastava Director (Fuel) Shri Animesh Jain RED Coal mining, HOP PB-CMP Shri Faiz Taiyab and other senior officials.
The visit underscored a collaborative effort towards fostering understanding and synergy between regulatory bodies and operational entities, marking a significant step towards the advancement of the coal mining sector.
